23 Day NICU Update

We wish we had better news to share, but Clifford took a turn over the weekend. While we finally got negative blood cultures and cleared the fungal infection (and pneumonia), the doctors think it's likely he has contracted a new bacterial infection. With this and everything his little body has been through over the past couple of weeks, his kidneys have stopped functioning, and he isn't producing urine. The doctors are doing everything they possibly can to kickstart his kidneys and get him to pee. The next 24 hours are very uncertain and we've been told to prepare for the worst - again - as they're worried this will lead to his body shutting down. He is just so sick and so tired but still fighting so hard. He's made it through so much already and we have truly beaten so many odds for him to be here. We're not giving up, and we have faith that he will pull through. We'll continue to fight as long as he fights. We're praying so hard we'll have better news to share soon. 🙏
